What are School - Based Apprenticeships & Traineeships(SAT’s)?

An opportunity for you to gain work skills and experience through a Training Agreement in the real world, while still at school. Successful outcomes result in a nationally recognised qualification.

Do I still get a Senior Certificate?

Yes

How do I manage both school and a job?

Flexibility! The school will release you for one day per week to attend work and/or training.

Can I choose the industry?

Yes

Do I get paid?

Yes, all SAT’s receive wages for the productive time spent in the workplace. You earn while you learn!

Will I have to go to college or TAFE?

A Training Plan is developed to ensure you receive all of the necessary skills on and off the job. You may be required to attend college on your release day or during school holidays.

Can I get extra work in the holidays?

Yes. If the workplace requires you to work and you are available, we recommend that you take every opportunity to gain as much industry experience as possible.

What happens when my apprenticeship is over?

After your apprenticeship is successfully completed, you are a qualified tradesperson. You may take the opportunity to specialise or branch out in to areas of your chosen industry. The world is your oyster!

Will I be paid less as an Acclaim Apprentice?

NO WAY! You will be paid the correct amount under the specific Award and will not be penalised in any way for being employed by Acclaim. Quite the opposite in fact!
